In 1882, on the quiet shores of Georgian Bay, Gidley Boat Works
began working on a product that would revolutionize the Canadian
boating industry forever. In the late 1920's a local craftsman from
Penetanguishine named Arthur Grew took over this operation and
was instrumental in forming a company that is still a leader in the
industry today - Grew Mfg. Taking the finest materials he could
gather, and applying his time honoured skill as a Master boat
builder, Arthur Grew catalyzed a Legend that continues to this day,
over a century later. From those small beginnings, to our state of the
art production facility, Grew continues to provide boat consumers
everywhere with the highest quality boat possible.
